I started Burack's Bookshelf in 2010, over on blogger, and moved it over to squarespace in summer 2016.
I graduated Dartmouth College in June 2017. I studied history, government & religion. During my senior year, I wrote an honors thesis entitled "We Are Speaking of Jewish Survival": The Emergence of the Jewish Defense League about the birth of a Jewish militant group in Brooklyn in 1968.
I do not write about every book I read! You can read other things I've written (not about books) in Marie Claire Magazine, Mouth Magazine, and others here.
I do not have a favorite book (too hard to pick). Maybe right now, it's The Post Office Girl by Stefan Zweig or Reading Lolita in Tehran by Azir Nafisi or The Lady in Gold by Anne-Marie O'Connor or The Shepherd's Life by James Rebanks... very hard to choose. And while on the subject of favorite books, it must be noted that I have always loved Which Witch? by Eva Ibbotson.
