Finding Freedom

This biography of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s relationship reportedly had the cooperation of the royals themselves. And even though representatives of Meghan & Harry deny their cooperation — their “inner circle” clearly had the blessing to talk to Omid Scobie & Carolyn Durand, in this in-depth look at the whirlwind romance, Royal Wedding, and royal exit. It’s dishy, gossipy, and lets Meghan & Harry tell their side of the story after being slandered in the British tabloids for years.

“I think time and time again, we felt that there were sides of the story that were often missing,” Scobie told NPR. “The mission here was really to paint a different perspective of a story that many feel they already know.”

What I really enjoyed about Finding Freedom was how quickly it read. Critical journalism, maybe not. But that’s not what the book set out to be: It clearly was Meghan & Harry’s rebuttal to the constant negative press. And don’t they deserve some positivity?!
